What does "by owner" mean on BYRBO?
The person who lists the boat is its owner or the owner's own management team. Your request goes straight to them, not to a broker who resells many boats, so pricing and details come from the people who actually run the vessel.
What is the difference between a yacht charter and a boat rental?
A yacht charter usually means a larger vessel with a professional captain and crew, often with food, drinks and water toys included. A boat rental is typically a smaller boat for a shorter trip. On BYRBO both come with a captain, and each listing explains exactly what is included.
Do I need boating experience or a license?
No. Charters listed on BYRBO are crewed, so a licensed captain handles navigation and safety while your group enjoys the day.
How much does a private charter cost?
Price depends on the boat's size, the length of the trip, the season and what is included. Smaller boats on short trips cost far less than large crewed yachts for a full day. Each listing shows the owner's own rates, so you can compare before you ask for a quote.
Does BYRBO charge guests a booking commission?
No. BYRBO does not add a booking commission on top of the owner's price. You agree the price and the details of your trip with the owner.
